Greensville Training School Oral History Project

I am Dr. Lucy Hudson, a native of Emporia, and I am conducting an oral history project about the Training School. This project is an extension of research that I completed in my Master of Education program at VCU, where I studied the history of the Training School. Over the next few months, under the mentorship of a professor with the VCU Department of African American Studies, my goal is to capture the history of the school to produce a documentary and book to share the story of this Rosenwald School.
During a moment when our history is being targeted, now is the time to capture our history for future generations.
